The traditional Winery Mayer am Pfarrplatz, the quintessential of Viennese Heurigen-culture, vinificates excellent Viennese wines in Nussdorf-Heiligenstadt since 1683. The grape varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are cultivated on the most precious single vineyards in Vienna, the chalky Nussberg and the one-of-a-kind site Alsegg, and top-quality Viennese wines are produced thereof.
The winery is well-known and famous for its classic, the “Gemischter Satz vom Nussberg”. This specialty from Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Zierfandler is harvested and vinificated together with Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Rotgipfler and Welschriesling.
The winery produces 90% white wine and 10% red wine. As long as the vintage permits, Praedikat wines are vinificated.
Numerous awards and prizes at national and international wine competitions confirm the high quality of the wines from the Winery Mayer am Pfarrplatz.
In 2006 Hans Schmid and his team took over the traditional winery.
