”Mayer am Pfarrplatz” wins international Riesling prize!
More than 9000 wines, a total of 27.000 bottles from all over the world, above all Rieslings from renowned winegrowing areas in Germany, Alsace and of course from the Wachau Valley, the Kamp Valley and the Krems Valley participated in the international wine competition AWC Vienna (www.awc-vienna.at). Among excellent Rieslings from all over the world (from all five continents), a wine from the Austrian capital emerged as winner: Our Riesling 2008 Nussberg from the Winery Mayer am Pfarrplatz.
A hearty welcome to the Winery Mayer am Pfarrplatz!
Since 1683 the Winery Mayer am Pfarrlatz is located in Vienna-Heiligenstadt and Grinzing and looks back on a long tradition and experience in winegrowing. The particularly warm Pannonian climate and excellent soils which are optimally suited for growing wine, this has developed Vienna to be the most important winegrowing capital of the world. As numerous awards and prizes won by the Mayer wines proves.
The first heralds of the vintage 2009 have arrived!
The Junge Wiener 2009, a Viennese Gemischter Satz which capitates by its fresh juvenile playfulness and multi-faceted variousness. The grapes were harvested on September 22nd and vinificated with great care.
