Mayer am Pfarrplatz in the Beethoven
House, which is well known to every Viennese winedrinker, tries
to maintain the tradition of the Viennese Heurigen or wine tavern.
Personal service and the whole team´s readiness to help guarantee
excellent quality, insures the best possible service and –
backed up by Viennese Heurigenmusik – the best atmosphere
too.
In days gone by, the “Salamutschi”
man (a sausage vendor) went from one “Heurigen” to another
selling sausage and cheese from a basket.
Today, an abundantly filled cold buffet of selected
delicacies, is complemented by an offer of warm roasts, grilled
chicken, boiled ham and homemade sausages.
Excellent cheeses, delicious salads, and so on,
makes a “Heurigen” meal to a real delight, and serves
as a good “foundation” for one or more glasses of the
light, tasty and fruity wine.
The warm and inviting atmosphere
is the old courtyard, the shady garden, and in its many cosy rooms,
one of which has an old wine press, made in 1617 from a single beam
of oak and usable even today, is complemented by an original “Viennese
Schrammelmusik”.
The rooms can also be reserved
for private catherings, from 15 persons upto 260.
For private gatherings we will
prepare special buffets or the typical Viennese warm mixed "Heurigen
Platte", served on big plates per table. Please order our price
list.
